Got up to Indian at daybreak,  few small trees down in the road, and the potholes are getting deeper….. surf, big and nasty!  40 and mostly cloudy with West swell 13.5ft@ 9.3-13 sec’s and S winds 5-10mph, water temp at 49.8, high tide was at 4am, sunrise at 7:48am and low tide at 9:21am.  Later today, West 13-15ft@ 13 sec’s with SSW winds 15-25mph, high of 51, cloudy and 80% chance of rain later in the day.  High tide at 2:46p.  Tonight W 15ft@12 sec’s with S winds 15-25mph, low of 47, clouds and 100% chance of rain.   Sunset at 4:30p and low tide at 9:43pm.
Cannon Beach PD has put our this advisory:
There is a high surf advisory in effect from 4 pm this afternoon to 10 am Thursday. A powerful northwest swell will create breakers up to 25 feet. All beach areas will be impacted by these large, powerful waves. The impact is hazardous surf will cause waves to run up much higher on the beaches than normal. The waves can sweep people off exposed rocks. They can also easily move large logs and other beach debris. Bar crossings and the surf zone will be dangerous due to strong currents and breaking waves.
