Cold, windy but dry this morning.  43, with West swell 11-12ft@ 8-18 sec’s with S winds 15-20mph, water temp at 47.  Sunrise was at 7:02am, and low tide at 7:36am. Later today, WSW 11-12ft@ 10 sec’s with S winds 15-20mph, Gale Warning, high of 51 with 90% chance of rain, high tide at 1:36pm.  One person noticed the horse mention,  Kerry in Menafee, but he is pretty anal.  Tonight W 10-12ft@ 10 sec’s with S winds 15-25mph, low of 47, and 100% chance of rain. Sunset at 7:39pm and low tide at 7:47pm.

GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM PDT WEDNESDAY… THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A GALE WARNING, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM PDT WEDNESDAY. * WINDS… SOUTH 20 TO 25 KNOTS WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KNOTS THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING. SOUTH WINDS INCREASE TO 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS TO 35 KT LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. * SEAS… COMBINED SEAS 12 TO 15 FEET THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THE SEAS TODAY ARE COMPRISED OF TWO NORTHWEST SWELLS… ONE AT 18 SECONDS, AND THE OTHER AT 12 SECONDS. STEEPER WIND-DRIVEN SEAS GETS THROWN INTO THE MIX TONIGHT. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. OPERATING A VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR WIND MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 21 TO 33 KNOTS ARE EXPECTED. INEXPERIENCED MARINERS… ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS SHOULD AVOID NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FOR HAZARDOUS SEAS MEANS THAT WAVES ARE EXPECTED TO BE HAZARDOUS TO SMALL CRAFT. MARINERS SHOULD AVOID SHOALING AREAS. LONG PERIOD SWELL CAN SHARPEN INTO LARGE BREAKING WAVES IN SHOALING AREAS. IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR WAVES TO BREAK MUCH FARTHER FROM SHOALING AREAS THAN IS NORMALLY EXPERIENCED. REMEMBER… BREAKING WAVES CAN EASILY CAPSIZE EVEN LARGER VESSELS
