One year ago, Coaster Const. started the remodel for the new surf shop......... doesn't seem like a year..... 46 days later, we opened in the new building!!!
March 27th, 2009
Ray Prom had his crew in pouring the new planters and curbs..... it will look pretty nice, but does cut down on parking in front.... we have lots of parking in back...... thanks to the city for making us cut down the length of our driveway to 24ft...... after all, they made it 40+ft when they put in the sidewalk...... not alot of love right now for them....... Emma, Bird, Bina and Kellye got their foot/handprints in the new cement......

We are beginning the final stages of the remodel......... our favorite concrete guy... Ray Prom is back with his crew, cutting up the front parking lot, getting ready to pour the planters and curbs on thursday..... Maria and Kellye are just going to drink some wine and watch the crew work.... and all of this, with Charles (the crusty chief) back from his bout with his heart.... glad to have him back!!!!

Had the carpets cleaned this afternoon..... looks great!!! Affordable Cleaning out of Seaside did a great job..... you can't believe how bad it was.... with all the remodel done to it...... Big, Major thanks to John Nelson at Coaster Construction....... one hell of a great job!

Thought I would send out an update on the construction.... this side has not gone as quickly as the new addition...... but, finally getting the siding done, window is installed, and the side storage shed for the funcycles is done...... they will start on the back this week, but most importantly is the new ADA Bathroom that we must have finished before we can open...... not a public bathroom mind you, one for us and our employees....... yep.... an additional $10,000 for the bathroom...... so, we might not even be able to open in the am, due to the jackhammering and other loud construction going on...... so, damn it, I may have to just go surfing..........We are still shooting for a Dec. 10th or so opening date......
November 4th, 2008
Today, Coaster finished the bay window in the front, and Tony Philips just about finished doing the wiring on the inside. Next is the ADA bathroom, and the cedar siding, to match the surf shop...... Guys are doing a great job on this..... and moving right along, with hopes of our Dec. 1 opening.......

Holy Crappola!!! It looks like we have a hundred people working on the job today! Rick and his crew are trying to finish up the deck and siding, along with other framing projects..... Looks like they might be almost there by Wed! Ray Prom.... standing on his truck, is getting the forms ready for a pour in the morning for the planters and some of the walkways...... not seen in the pictures.... Mark McGill is starting to tape the drywall and put on the borders etc..... Amazing, the way these guys all seem to work as a team...... Kudo's to Coaster Construction ..... great coordination!!! All this , and it's only 2pm!

Another amazing day..... Papa John at Coaster Const. recovered from a couple of minor setbacks, and things really progressed much more than I would have ever anticipated! Mark McGill showed up to start the drywall, and we were hoping only to have the upstairs (our offices) done, but, he finished pretty much the entire building..... a few spots still, but about 90%..... amazing!! Ray Prom had his crew in, and getting the planters and walkway's prepped for the concrete....... Rick and his Crew are working on finishing off the deck and siding.... Enough can not be said about this project..... just amazing!!! Place is looking great!!! Can't wait to move surf stuff in!!

First picture is "the Crew".... Rick and his guys..... amazing work these guys are doing! I would say that about 65% of the siding is done...... they are coming back to work on some more on Sat., then Monday, supposedly, the infamous Mark McGill is "supposed" to start on the drywall.... and, word is, that "IF" the McGill actually gets going, and Tony gets some Temp heaters wired to dry up the mud on Wed. , we can start painting next friday...... We are all just keeping our fingers crossed that the weather continues to hold through Wed of next week, as we still need to get Ray Prom to finish up the cement work...... But...... Coaster Construction is on this!! Can't say enough good about Coaster!!
September 24th, 2008
Today was the first day that we had rain most of the day..... Rick and his crew still got some of the siding done on the first floor...... Papa John got a couple of his "corbels" (sp?) mounted on the corners..... Tony ( our son in law) got the electrical inspection approved. So, looks like the insulation goes in on Thursday, Ray Prom is supposed to start the final bit of concrete work, and they deliver the drywall on Friday....... The fireplace up stairs should be in by Friday as well. John - Coaster Construction had to take off to help his daughter Julie "The Bird" move to U of O today..... she has worked for us for over 6 years...... My major league compliments to all..... even the city guys showed up today to fix a few problems, and offer to have the sidewalk fixed, and not at our cost! I keep saying that this has gone so smooth....... guess we are just "blessed"..... hope it continues!!
