post 72 Suburban for sale

June 29th, 2011

Mark here is the suburban I have for sale.

This is a 1972 suburban that is resting on my 1970 ½ ton 2 wheel drive frame/motor/transmission/ etc…. 350ci motor, automatic transmission, rally wheels and tires, bucket seats. I believe it’s a 21 gal gas tank and gets approximately 10 MPG. A simple upgrade to a straight six motor could get you 15MPG. This suburban has rust in the usual places but a lot less than 90% of northwest suburbans, (it is impossible to find one without any rust unless you live in Arizona), rust in the front kick panels/under sill plates. Typically the wheel wells are rusted out completely but this one is good. There is also a portion of a front fender that is rusted out near the rocker panel and there appears to have been some bondo work on the front passenger door. (the good news is these parts are easily replaced as they are interchangeable with all chevy trucks/blazers from 1967-72.

This is a great runner and I used it for my daily driver for several years, plenty of trips to the beach, even numerous trips to Montana.

I would like to keep it but my wife says it has to go. We need to pay off the restoration of my yellow suburban. We are looking to get 4500$ for it.

You can call me anytime and let me know if you have any questions or would like to see it. we haven’t been to the beach in a long time.

Thanks

Sometimes we get some great emails, and just have to share…..

Mark!

I want to express my sincere gratitude for your shop setting up my surf lesson with Kim Hamrock. Truly she is an inspiration and a great instructor and I feel fortunate to have met her and look forward to surfing with her again in the near future and get back to being my “old” self as in the attached pictures. • One picture is taken of me surfing at Hubbard Creek @ Port Orford, Or in the spring of ’98. • The other is taken of me surfing at South Beach in front of the Beachcomber Restaurant in Crescent City, Ca in ’98. It was a pleasure to make yours & Larry’s & Kim’s acquaintance and I will drop in and see you when I am in the area! Which will probably be next week (no, don’t tell the wife!…lol). Really she is very supportive of my efforts to get back in the game and knows how much I love surfing and how much I have missed it since my bout with cancer.
