Late today, had the joy of the early morning doctors appt........ let's see.... 2 shots, many prod's, drew blood...... what a way to start the day.... I feel so much better now... at least I can have my first cup of coffee!!!! Surf dropped, rumor has it a few went out ...... WSW 8ft @ 9-13 sec's this morning, supposed to build to W 10-12ft @ 14 sec's. Air temp now is 41, water 49. Light S winds in the am, picking up to 20mph later.11am Low tide, 5p high tide...... Still looking like Sunday will be good, then Wed. and Thurs. of next week lookiing good as well. Sat. W10ft @ 15 sec's with light S winds. Sunday SW7ft With light SE winds. Monday SW 20ft with S winds 20-25mph. Tuesday WSW 15ft with light E winds. Wed. WSW 8ft with light E winds, Thursday WSW 5-6ft with SE winds 15mph. So.... friday, "visitors blog day"..... first one is from our infamous friend "Flounder".... all I can say is... I am touched.... FLOUNDERS BLOG Well, i think i have to submit an official request to change my nickname. I have decided that i should be called "Selfish Bastard". Heres why. As dumb as it may sound, i had a dream the other night. It was one of those dreams where you wake up and it was just a little too real, and you remember the whole damn thing. When that happens, i usually take the message to heart. In the dream i walked into the surf shop and Mekenas said "Morning Selfish Bastard" and then flipped me off, and charged me double for my cup of coffee. Now, there is only one thing out of place in that little scenario, and that is the nickname. Usually it"s "morning Flounder", flips me off and charges me double for the coffee. As the dream unfolded i found out why i was now Selfish Bastard instead of Flounder. I wont bore you with the details of the dream, but the bottom line is, i realized through the dream that for the last three years i have not volunteered my time for any worthy cause. Not one minute. Hell i haven't even helped out with the beach clean ups. Sure, life is busy, what with work, living with Smoking Hot, the kids, hobbies, and being a "damn near professional" surfer, but that is really no excuse. I think we can all agree that giving your time to worthy causes is one of the basic virtues of a real person, and something we should all strive for. I used to volunteer a lot and its time to get back on track. Hell if i keep going the way i am going i will probably get crossed off the Dali Lama's Christmas Card List. No, seriously.....i am on his list. So to turn this tide around, and keep my well deserved nickname of Flounder, i have decided to volunteer for a different organization once a month. I will be starting with the Polar Plunge at the end of the month, which is jumping into the Columbia river to raise money for Special Olympics. After that i figured i would lend some time to rebuilding some local trails, the beach clean up. So why am i telling you this? two reasons. First, if anybody has any ideas for my volunteer quest, fire em' at me. Second, maybe if i publicly say i am going to do this it will help me to stick to it. I will keep you posted. Until Then, Take Care of Each Other --- Flounder Next one is from one of our old friends "Marcus".... seems they are turning into farmers..... good... and looking for investors!!! BFD, Our wee little farm near T-mook. We are diversifying our earned income and working together. This endeavor is a way for us to build a more stable financial future together. It will provide us with the flexibility to have the life structure and energy to be better partners for each other. Financially, this is a way for us to create a retirement. We may not be farmers by training, but with the dependable growing procedure and parent company support, we can work at our current occupations and manage crop growth, generating a second income. Would you please add the note on the blog that we need investors for the expansion phase. We're offering a 200% return on investment in five years. We've got enough money for the first phase of 5,000 square feet of growing space. We are assembling more private investors and loans for the expansion phase of 7,500 more square feet of growing space. We have a business plan and investor package we can send to interested parties. This will get us to approximately 6,500 happy little plants. >> >> Markus Mead >> Co-Owner >> www.FrogEyesWasabi.com This one with a picture from one of our friends up in Nova Scotia.... Thought you may enjoy this shot - the spot is called the "Moose" here in Nova Scotia.

Much nicer day today.... we didn't get the winds they were calling for last night, but as I was walking back from the beach this morning, the SE winds were starting to pick up. Surf reports are all over the board this morning...... lets see.... one calls for "Seas of 16ft", another " W 12-15ft @ 15 sec's".... Looks like W 7-9ft @ 10-15secs. S winds supposed to hit 45mph later today..... Water temp still about 51, There might be some surf closer to high tide later this morning..... but, the way the winds are starting to pick up , Southern protection would be very important....... Had some rain on and off... hell, we have already been to Warrenton this morning and back.... today is "Car Service Day"...... dropped off the great white, now have to take the trailblazer SS in for it's check up...... so.... SB will be covering the shop on and off today. Friday W 10-12ft @ 15 sec's with S/SE winds 8-12mph. Saturday W 12ft wtih SW winds 15mph. Sunday W 6-8ft @ 15 sec's with SE winds 10-15mph. Monday SW 12-15ft with S winds 20mph. Tuesday WSW 12-15ft wtih Lt. Nw winds. Wed. W 7-8ft with Light E winds.

wow.... a great sunrise! Little colder this morning, high 40's, but will warm up to the mid 50's..... might get some rain and wind tonight, maybe 45+mph... no big deal...... not like the Cal. people getting rain and mud...... never fun to drive in a place where people are NOT used to the wet roads..... Up here.... W 13ft @ 10-15 sec's with S winds 15-20 today, low tide at 10:50am, high tide at 3pm. Water temp about 51. All week, the intervals will be about 15 sec's...... Thursday, W 12ft with SE winds 15mph, low tide at 11:45am, high at 4p. Friday W 8-10ft with light E winds, high tide at 4:30am, low at 12:45pm. Saturday W 10-12ft with light W winds. then...... Sunday, W 7-8ft with S/E winds 12mph. good potential!! Monday, even better.... SW 5ft with SE winds 15-20ft..... Tuesday SW 20ft with S winds 15mph. Rant: ............ OK..... big news all over the tube was the Ma. election...... am glad at the results, but I don't agree with alot of the pundits running off at the mouth about how the dem's better watch out..... I think the real truth is that both Dems and Repub's who have been in office, and part of the Washington arrogance should be worried..... I think this was more of a statement that WE the American People are tired of being sold out by the career politicians..... well, that is my take...... like A-holes, everyone has an opinion.....

One of the best things about owning a surf shop, is when you get to sell a person their "first board"...... had that happen today..... We set up the Danielson family with the big guys first board....a Linden, single fin!.... Mom is originally from Encinitas and has another future surfer on the way...........They live in the Portland area....... Yep, another good day!!
