Rained pretty hard yesterday afternoon, and it tried to snow a bit, but warmed up later in the day to the low 40′s….. today, some rain, some clouds, even saw a sunbreak or two…… air temp high 30′s, 49 for the high today. W/SW 8-10ft @ 12 sec’s today with light SE winds, high tide at 10:15am , low at 5:45p. Water temp still around 49. Might be better north or so….. or not…….. pretty junky around here! Thursday drops a bit to W/SW 7-9ft @ 12 sec’s with S winds 20mph, low tide at 5:20am rain and 51. Friday SW 8-10ft @ 9 sec’s with S winds 25mph and rain 52. Saturday SW 12ft @ 13 sec’s with light NW winds, rain 51. Sunday Sw 6 @ 10 sec’s with light E winds , rain 50. Monday SW 4-5ft @ 14 sec’s with S winds 15mph. rain 49. Tuesday Sw 10ft @ 8 sec’s with S winds 20mphj, rain 50. So…. looks like rain for the next 10 days, but mild temps….. sunday and monday looking like the most fun…… going to go on thursday and take a drive…… Have a happy NEW YEAR!!

Thought this morning was going to be the one to get in at Indian……but no….wasn’t meant to be….. ran into Jyanail and Finger up there, we all had the same thought…… well…. back to work, they were going back north to see about some surf there….. Swell did drop, but still too much water in….. W/SW 6-8ft @ 11sec’s today with SE winds 15mph. High tide at 9:30p, low at 5p tonight. Supposed to pick up later today, Wed. SW 8-10ft @ 13 sec’s with light SE winds. Thursday SW 6-8ft @ 12 sec’s with SE winds 25mph. Friday and Saturday picks up to SW 12-15ft @ 10-13 sec’s with SE winds 25mph. Sunday drops to SW 6-7ft @ 10 sec’s with E winds 10mph….. then Monday, when all the kids go back to school…. SW 4-5ft @ 14 sec’s with E winds 15mph. Also looks like rain and cloudy skies for the next several days…. sun breaks today….. should be able to find something to surf………

Drove up to Indian, really didn’t think it would be working yet, but the swell did drop from yesterday, and is starting to clean up a bit….. Tuesday might be the call….. Crab boats were out. Morning rant: Been saving this shortie up……. All I hear about is the health care program…….. very little done about helping US manufacturing companies to get back in the biz and hire people to go to work…… but, the damn politicians are so proud of themselves for doing (or think they are doing) for the masses…… reality: IF YOU DON”T HAVE A JOB, HOW CAN YOU BUY HEALTH INSURANCE! or, is this just another way for the politicians to gain power over the people??? Glad the pres . is enjoying himself in Hawaii….. playing golf…having a good old time….. When will the government start “tightening their belts, just as the small business people has had to do all year!??! Guess they are immune? IF they have served more than 2 terms…..I will do all I can to vote them out…… My morning rant…… been watching way too much news lately…. damn, I might almost be informed?!?!?!?!?!??! Watched Ventura last night….. not a bad show….. ton of ego, but still pretty good info…..

Cold this morning, had to scrape the ice off the windshield….. yes, we opened this morning, after the boss and I opened our gifts…. then worked the store for a bit, then over to our daughters to watch the granddaughters rip up the presents….. yep, that is what it is all about….. those 2 girls are having a ball…. pictures to follow to family….. my daughter gave me something to go along with my new toy from the upstairs shop…… an Obama chia pet…… those of you that know me, can see the humor…… then, opened up the computer…. 85 spam messages!?!?! What kind of sick bastards will send out spam on Christmas Day..?!?!?! They should all be drug out of their little holes and taken apart slowly……..
Surf today still on the sizeable side…. W/NW 7-8ft @ 12-14sec’s with light morning SE winds, picking up later to about 20mph. 6am was high tide, 1pm is low tide, water temp about 48. The weekend will pick up to about W 10-14ft @ 15 sec’s with light E winds….. weather will be nice, cold in the am, warming up during the day….. Mon. W 10-12 , then Tuesday W 6-8ft with light S winds…..
I am hoping everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Day…. we will be closing early today, and I can be found at the house enjoying life…. and some cocktails…… Last night, we had the whole family out to the Wayfarer Rest……. good food and drink….. so, the holidays are very good!!!

It is Winter! Was 29 when I came over this morning, 31 at 8a when I took pictures…… surf looks junky inside, but the clean up outside sets were looking pretty good….. W/NW 8-10ft @ 10-12 sec’s today with light E winds. high tide was at 5:30am, low at noon. Water temp about 46, and we are supposed to warm up to the mid 50′s today. Sun is starting to break out over the mountains…… Surf on Christmas day will probably drop a bit to about SW8ft, with the same weather….. Weekend is supposed ot pick up to the 12+ range, out of the South with SE / E light winds….. cold in the morning and warming up mid day…..
I will be doing the surf report in the morning, as the stores will be open until about 2p or so….. but, I will be with the grandaughters to open presents and have breakfast with them…… AS USUAL, Maria and I have been terrible about getting out Christmas Cards……. this morning, it really hit us, that this is Christmas Eve…. so….. if you were nice enough to send us a card, we really do appreciate them, as they are hanging on the fireplace….. our best thoughts go out to all of our family and friends, and we hope you all have a great Christmas!!! We will be having a group at the house on Christmas Day, and thankfully, we will have a glass or two of wine or vodka and give a toast to you all…… Have a great day today!!!

This week, had some family birthdays…. one of my little sisters, Lisa had hers on the 21st… , Cathe in O’side had hers on the 18th, and today is my old AHB Hedge’s Birthday….. all of these people are now old…… Happy Birthday… I am always either late or totally forget, so…..this age thing is a bitch!!
Going to see how the day goes…….. working the shop…. looks like we will be open Christmas Day…. at least on the Beach Store side, surf shop will have the door open between the shops…. until around 2pm…. but, as usual, open early for good coffee. Spent the morning doing some on line research for a customer, but had the BBC in N ireland on, so I could hear our old buddy….. and I mean , it is nice to see this guy age….. Patterson… seems they are having some nasty snow and ice there, along with traffic problems…. I offered some suggestions, but he declined…. also heard from Nick Flack in the UK, he was sitting in his camper van, making beans for the kids in the neighborhood while they were out playing in the snow…. First day of the real Winter….. cold here, and cold there…. Nick’s story brought back alot of memories of when we had small kids and lived in Seattle with the snow…… good times!!! Have a great day!! I have some smiles going on….. and got to flip loads of shite over to the old country…… damn, the day can only get better!!! And the surf better for the week!!!!
