At least the water here is clean…… Swell was still pretty good size this morning, shorebreak was brutal….. W 6-8ft this morning with tight intervals….. dropping later to W5ft wtih light S winds….. low tide at 10am, high at 3:45p….probably be pretty fun later this morning……. Thursday W 5ft in the am , turning NW6ft later in the day… N winds 15+mph, Friday NW6ft with N winds 25+, Sat. W8ft with N winds 25mph, then Sunday NW9ft with N winds 25mph….. Sun is out, and looks like another 10 days of it….. not as warm as yesterday, and was actually cold this morning….

Drove around….. Off shores are howling…. very tough on a longboard to drop in, all morning, saw one guy on a shortboard get a nice ride…… no one out at IB, clean up sets were 8-10ft faces and the E winds howling, but at least the water is clean and still warm….. W6ft-8ft @ 10 -12 sec. intervals. Low tide at 9:10am, high at 3pm today. The high temp today will be about 85….. hot for us……. Wed. W 6ft @ 11 secs with light S winds. Thursday W5ft with NW 15mph winds. Friday NW 7ft with N winds 25+, then Sat. W8ft with N winds 25mph…… and, sunshine all week…… thursday is still “visitor rant/blog” day…….

A beautiful morning! Air temp already in the 70′s…. sun is out….. surf was fun….lots of paddling, big mushers…. but, when you finally got one, it was worth the wait!!…. E winds blowing about 10+mph, hard to see when you are dropping in… it was nice, only Samoan Eric and Arnold were out…… water is still warm… no gloves… light booties…. W5-7ft @ 10 sec’s . Low tide at 8:30am, high at 2:35p……….

Rained last night…. perfect! Rain at night, sunshine during the day…… sun is burning the morning funk off, swell has really dropped…. so much for that big 8ft swell today…… reports calling for W7ft this morning, but looks more like W4ft with light NE winds. Supposed to pick up to 8ft later today….. Low tide at 8am, high at 2pm….. Monday am W8ft, dropping to W5-6 in the afternoon. Tuesday W7ft with light SE winds. Wed. W6ft with light W winds. Thursday W6ft with 15+mph NW Winds….. Sunshine all week…… oh hell yes!!!!
Yesterday was the beach clean up, and it was good to see a great turnout….. Wells Fargo Bank from the city brought down 2 bus loads of employees to help out…… nice people….. had a few in the shops, looked like they were having fun……

Up early, rained pretty hard this morning, but down to a light drizzle now… sun will burn some of this off later. Classic weather for the Beach Clean up day…… Air temp was about 59 at 6am, about the same now…. minus low tide at 7:20AM, high tide at 1:30p. W 5-7ft @ 9 sec’s this morning, and pretty junky everywhere I looked…. but again, given some time and water moving in, it might be ok later….. I ended up having coffee early with the old farts…… got the morning off to some good laughs………. so far, it is hard to find better people than OLD surfers…………
Sunday looks like a warmer day, sun, W 7ft @ 11 sec’s with a low tide at 8am……. Monday W 8 in the am, dropping to 6ft with NE winds 20+….. Tuesday W7ft with light S winds. Wed. W6ft with NW winds 15+mph…… so, after some morning funk, looks like the next week will be great!!!

Sunday W8ftr with NE winds 25+mph and low tide at 8am. Monday W6ft with NE winds 25+mph and low tide at 8:30am…… Sunshine for the next 10 days….. might get a little drizzle on Sat morning, but…… other than that….. hell yes….. great days to be at the beach!

A Different View
Ok, so you are sitting on your board on the outside, (Yes, contrary to Marks comments I do venture past the soup occasionally) You are looking out to the ocean, gauging the next set, adjusting your position to hit the curl on that perfect long left. All is good as you bob around looking like a nice ?seal-a- meal? to our great white friends?.
BUT?how often do you take the time to look back into shore? Damn we are lucky! When you look back to the shore at Indian, You are being given a gift! Old growth trees, beautiful rock formations, wildlife, creeks cascading into small waterfalls, and not a condo, hotel, or storefront in sight. How many surf breaks have ?the view? that we are so lucky to have? Not many. When the only house you can see is a Lighthouse, you are living the dream!
So once again surfing teaches us lessons if we let it. First, sometimes you just need to look around and compare your situation To realize how lucky you are, and maybe you do have it better than the other guy.
Second, if you take a moment and look at a situation from a different view, you might just get a whole new perspective On your issue, problem, or opinion.
I try to learn from the folks around me, and when it comes to putting a ?positive view? on things, all I have to do is look at Jess, my wife. Here is a gal who was a promising surfer, and then due to a hip injury four years ago, and four surgeries later, she still can?t paddle out. But you will never hear her bitch, whine or complain. She finds the positive view, and rolls with it. For now, she is content to hobble down to the Beach, feel the breeze and dip her toes in the surf, but God help us all when she gets back out there. Cute as all get out, but Hell on wheels?.

Well, we had our Dr visit yesterday and learned we are having a boy. I still sometimes cant believe I’m pregnant, let alone that I’m going to have a son in about 18 weeks or so. Wow! we have been together off and on for many years and yeah, we’ve had our ups and downs. you taught me so much, how to thread your tube, the subtlety you desire when caressing your lip, and the soul arches…dear god the soul arches. but i think it is time that we went our separate ways. don’t get me wrong, i will think of you often when i am alone and reminiscing of my favorite conquests. And no, it has nothing to do with Bali, she was a one time thing and trust me, she was way more insane than you. it’s just that, you have made so many new friends lately, janitors, lineup shirking loggers, funshape straight gliders, spongers, and chop hopping premature pullout artists…and i just don’t think there is room for me in your life anymore…. i see that look in your eyes when someone rides you poorly and know in my heart that nobody satisfied you like i did, and for your part, i was never happier than when i was in your frigid embrace. we’ve come to an impass, you and i. we haven’t been exclusive for years and while it was okay for a time, i just keep getting more and more jealous when some spiky haired wannabe strokes into your curves. I mean, the way you casually threw me off and without so much as a furtive glance let another ride you (not even as deeply or as tenderly as i did) really hurt me. and then you didn’t even stick up for me when some boneheaded jock tried to spear me whilst i recovered back to your outside…that just hurt! i know you will find someone else who will look out for you on those stormy days and keep you company when your channel is clogged with debris. Well, had a couple of good days, so today, looks like a day to do catch up work……. Went up with Bird, we ended up walking the beach, taking pic’s….. air temp is still in the high 60′s, south winds blowing 20+mph this morning, and we are supposed to get some rain today. W 8-10ft @ about 8 sec’s. High tide at 11:30am, low at 5:20p. Surf is looking pretty nasty…… some big clean up sets, but the intervals are tight….. Thursday supposed to be better, W9ft @ 12 sec’s with light NE winds, partly cloudy 67……. Friday W7ft With light N winds, partly cloudy 75. Sat. W 7ft with N winds 20+mph, am rain, then partly cloudy 65. Sunday W7ft with N winds 25+mph, sunny 70. Mon – Friday of next week…. sunny and in the mid to high 70′s…….
OK….. thursday will be our first “visitor blog” day….. if you have something to post, send it to me either tonight or early, I mean early thursday morning…….

Bird and I went up with hopes of finding surf….. no luck….. instead, we took a nice walk on the beach, and got some pictures…. these are not the ones I posted on the daily emails…… what a great beach, and people now are camping all over the place, since Shorty’s is closed for camping…… and of course leaving nice trash piles everywhere….. along with their personal “piles”……. great day for a walk …….. more on the daily surf report……..
