Not as cold as yesterday, but the E winds are howling pretty good…. 20+ this morning, which brought the windchill temp down to the mid 30′s….. low tide around 10a, and high not until around 2:30p…… lots of people in the water up north……. W 6ft @ 13 sec’s with the E winds picking up later to 30+…… Sunday, W 14ft – 16ft with S winds 35+mph…… Monday seas 14-18ft with south winds 35+, tuesday W 14ft with SW winds 20+, dropping a bit on wed to W 11ft with sw winds 20+…..

Damn ice this morning….. cold…… really damn cold….. low tide at 9a, Swell looks fun, W 6-8ft @ 15 sec’s with light SE winds today…. sunshine is trying to warm things up….. think I will go around 9:30a and see what can be found. Checked the cam at seaside….. amazing! still working!!! Looks like the usual group in the parking lot. Saturday should be good as well, W 6ft @ 13 sec’s, but winds will pick up to E/SE 25+mph… Sunday not so good… SW16-18ft with south winds 40+mph Monday SW 12ft with S winds 20+, same on Tuesday.

Strange morning….. woke up early… 3a to snow on the decks….. by 6a, just some rain and about 36…… then about 7:30a dropped to 31….. now the sun is breaking out…. surf looks better than yesterday, Looks about 6-8ft this morning, but reports are calling for W 8-12 ft today @ 10-13 sec’s with am winds 20+mph….. high today is supposed to be 45. Might be good around here…… going to take a drive in a bit and see what can be found…. Friday looking damn fun… sunshine, W8ft @ 15 sec’s with light S winds……. Saturday W8ft with E winds 15-20 mph…… sunday gets nasty Seas 15ft with some S winds 25+, than Monday SW 12ft with SW winds…. looks fun… So……. looks like with some searching, waves might be found……. I am going “searching”……as soon as it warms up a bit…..!!!

Had the morning from hell, sitting around the dealership for 3 hours while they serviced the car….. finally hit sdn around noon…. blown out and nasty……. got back to the shop….. had some deliveries…… supposed to snow tonight….. and will be cold in the morning….. so this picture just seemed the perfect one for this afternoon……..

Was raining and windy when I first got over to the shop around 6a, winds have dropped off a bit, as did the rain. Swell has been knocked down by the wind as well. reports calling for SW8ft @ 9 sec’s, at any place with protection from the south, it will probably be alot smaller. AM light SW winds, picking up to 20+ today. Head cold and auto appointment will keep me dry this morning…… maybe…… see how long it takes to get the “boss’s” car serviced………. Thursday W9ft @ 18 sec’s with W winds 15-20mph….. ????? Friday, W9ft with S winds Saturday W7ft with SE winds 20+……. Sunday SW10ft with S winds 25+mph…….. Looks like there will be some good surf to be found this week……..

Some have asked……. “what do you guys do in the winter when the surf sucks”? We watch the wild life multiply………….

Drove around this morning, as did several others…… Seas 14-17ft today, had high winds and rain all night and today SW winds 35+mph. At least there is no ice…… Didn’t find anywhere that was decent….. one spot was a “maybe, if I hadn’t surfed in weeks”……. but then the color of the water was a turnoff…….. Rest of the week….. Looks like W swell 8ft dropping to 7ft by Friday and Saturday, with W winds turning SE on friday and saturday……. so….. get over this damn head cold quick…… might find some waves this week…… weekend starting to look fun…..
mini rant: Heard and read some comments on the 60 yr old guy who got rescued friday night….. mostly pretty arrogant comments…… my take; anyone who has surfed for alot of years , has had their “moments”…. luckily none of mine required rescueing, but a couple, I wished there might have been….. worse one I can remember was at Kahuku point on the north shore of Oahu….. lots of scrapes and coral cuts climbing out of that little mess….. maybe I am a bit more understanding, especially since I am much closer to this guys age than most of yours….. I know this guy, nice guy, and I only wish him the best…….. maybe when some of the “kids” running off at the mouth get to our age, they might understand a bit more….. but then, I hope they make it to our age………

One of our local guys found this wetsuit by the road near Oswald State Park…….. if you lost it, let me know what size it is and you can claim it……. funny, because it is one of our old rental suits from about 4 years ago…. maybe longer…….

Late posting today…. got out early with Cory, Larry, Hank and the Bing/Jacobs couple….. had a ball, surf was fun, and all good people in the water…… makes for a great way to start the day! Report calling for SW9 @ 9sec’s, with SE winds picking up later to 35mph or so….. was pretty calm this morning, and the sun is in and out…… again, that makes for a great morning…… Hell, if it gets any better, I might just pee on myself!!! Tuesday looking like seas about 13 ft with SW winds 25mph….. Wed, drops W7ft with SW winds, than Thur and Fri picks up a bit to W9ft with light S winds….. could be a good weekend, supposed to be cloudy all week…… but……???????
