Last day of 2008……. Surf looking much smaller than the reported W 13ft this morning…. W winds knocking it down, am winds about 25mph….. but not too cold…. Winds supposed to turn from the SW later to 30+mph….. some rain…. so, no fire on the beach….. Yesterday was pretty impressive… went over to SdN, and saw Samoan Eric catch one at shorebreak, but wasn’t there to see him snap one of our “loaner” 9′ Linden’s…… missed that little show…… so, we will now have 2 broken boards in one 3 month period from the Samoan……. hanging on the wall…… hell, I may have to dedicate one area for his “trophy’s”…… Even better news than that, yesterday I handed over the keys to the Family Market building…….. we are now completely out of there…… not a tear was shed….. as one employee said…”I won’t miss working in the cold, dark, cave” New store is much nicer and more comfortable….. So…. we will enjoy another bottle of White Star tonight….. did one last night to celebrate no more Family Market, tonight we celebrate a new beginning at the new store and a new year!!!! Thursday, Jan 1st, I am going to find a place to get wet…….don’t care what the surf is doing, I will at least get the board in the water….. Cheap Bastard can be found in Arch Cape wearing his Viking horns and jumping in the water for that annual event…. too much of a crowd for this old fart……..Surf should be W 13-19ft with south winds 25-45mph….. Friday W 20-25ft with W winds 30+, Sat. drops a bit to W 13ft with SW winds 15-25mph….. Sunday W 11fty with S winds 30mph +………. maybe next week!!!

Nice morning, air about 45, very light SW winds swell looking 8-10ft out of the West….. sun is sort of out……. Report for the day is W 10, building to 15ft later, with the winds picking up to 30+ mph later. One might find a spot this morning….????? I may have to drive around……..
Wed. W 18ft with SW winds 25-35+mph….. not good for the bonfire….. looks like a bust….. just going to sit and drink I guess……. Thursday W 16ft with SE/S winds 25-50 mph….. Friday W 25ft with W winds 35-50mph….. Sat; W 15ft with SW winds 10-18mph….. umm….. cleaning up for next week???? Just in time for all the “kid” to be heading back to school???

Windy……. very windy!!! SW winds 30-35mph this morning, probably get gusts 45+mph. NW 10-15ft foday….. wind is knocking down the swell a bit…. still, nasty….. and, looks like a nasty week….. Tues. NW 14-17ft with S winds 30-55 mph….. Wed. W17ft with W winds 20-50mph….so much for the bonfire idea…..too damn windy!!!!! Thursday, Jan. 1st… W 16ft with S winds 25+…. Friday W 21ft with W winds 35-45 mph…… so far, not a good forecast………….. road to seaside has been under water, and at times, takes an hour to get there from here….. and back…….

Morning Drizzle, light S/Sw winds , but supposed to pick up to 23-29 mph today. Swell this morning looks around 8-10ft and really junky….. report is calling for W/NW 10 – 17ft today…… Monday, looks similar, W 14ft @ 13 sec’s with SW winds 30-35mph….. tried to go North yesterday, but the damn road was flooded into Seaside….and I didn’t feel like waiting for the car to guide us through….. might try a drive up on Monday….. Tues, the same as Monday…. Wed. W 13ft with W winids 35-40 mph…. (our last day at the Family Market!!!) Thursday W 13ft with SW wind 28-30 mph…..
There are some possible plans for a bonfire…… a BIG Bonfire on New Years Eve, just north of the Surfsand……. can’t think of a better way to burn the bad stuff from 08′, drink and remember the good stuff, and get ready for a great 09′……. more to follow on this plan…… we are going to see what the weather may bring…… but, it may take all day to haul enough stuff onto the beach, for a good clean fire!….. that’s right… keep the plastics and nasty stuff at home…… paper and wood….. no nails!!! Cocktails will be a requirement…… IF this becomes a reality, we will post it…….. hell, this is better than a rant………

Wind and rain this morning, but the air temp at 6a was 49……. no chance of freezing today! W/NW swell 13 – 18ft today, with S/Sw winds 25-35 mph….. drove up to Indian, road was littered with chunks of branches and logs…. had to clear a few to get through…. we had winds 60+ last night, but never lost power….. a good thing….. might take a drive later up north….. maybe…… Sunday looks a bit bigger, W 18-20 ft with S/Sw winds 25+…. Monday and Tuesday will be about NW 14ft with SW winds 20+…… Wed., starts to drop to NW 11ft with SW winds 15-20mph….. hoping for some cleaner swell on New Years day…… started off 08′ with a session at Indian beach, hoping for the same in 09′…….
Can you believe our “leaders” in Congress!!?!?! a 3% pay raise?!?!?! for what?!?!?!? if it says “incumbent”….. I vote no…….. my mini rant of the day……..

Just for the hell of it, Emma and I took a ride up to Indian Beach…… still doesn’t look anywhere near the size it has been calling for….. but still looks big and mostly just plain nasty……… raining, and about 39 right now…….

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday! Air temp in the mid 30′s this morning, NW winds 20+, but supposed to change to SW later with gusts 25+. Swell is all over the place as well, calling for NW 14-19ft today, but this morning didn’t look much bigger than maybe 10ft , intervals 10-14 sec’s…. might take a drive later this morning and see what can be found. Weekend looks like W 12ft with SW winds 25+……. Monday picks up to NW 15ft with W winds, and Tuesday NW 13ft with SW winds 20+……

Pretty stormy here, but air temp in the low 40′s…. raining and NW winds 15-40 mph today… Swell NW 15-28ft today….. intervals look alot tighter than the 13 sec’s predicted….. good day to take a walk and see what Mother Nature will throw at us on Christmas Day…… should be wild…. Next 4 days looking big as well, Nw 20ft dropping to NW 13 on Sunday, then picking up to NW 15 on Monday……. W winds , and some SW winds for the weekend, then turning W again on Monday…. 25-35mph…….

S winds are blowing with gusts 35+ this morning, but the swell is down, W 6ft @ 8-10 sec’s, this side of the head, pretty blown out…… might take a drive in a bit north to see if SdN is any better….. Cheap Bastard said he hit it pretty good yesterday late morning……. We are expecting wind waves 4-6ft today. Christmas Day, NW 25-30ft with NW winds 30+…. should be pretty wild out there….. good morning for a hike….. might see if the grand daughter is up to it later in the morning……. Friday, still pretty big and nasty, NW 20ft with W winds 20+mph….. Sat. NW 12ft with SW winds 20+, Sunday NW 13ft with SW winds 25+…….
Hwy 26 is open, but I guess they got some snow early this morning…… air temp here is in the low 40′s……
