Yep…. went back over around 10:30a, had a ball….. good group in the water..Limey Keith, cheap bastard, “the foot”, Sandy (first pic), Benson and his son, and an amazing thing…. Casey Corkery paddled out…… good to see him in the water…. been a long time since I have surfed with him…… anyway, surf was everything from waist to overhead, was a SW swell, but as we came in, seemed to change to NW , with W winds picking up…… had some damn fun waves today! Saw alot of good rides out there….. but, Benson’s son had the “eat it of the day”…… free fall of about 8ft, and crushed……. came up with a smile….

Drove north to the cove…… smaller than yesterday, but fairly clean…. going back after some water gets in……. right now, pretty much closing out……. this side of the head… total caca…. S winds 25+……. SW9ft @ 9 sec’s…… I think this morning might be a “last shot” for a few….. although, Sat might be interesting, SW 13-16ft @ 8-12 sec’s with SW winds……. Sunday drops a bit to SW 13-14ft with SW winds. Mon. hits W 10ft with SW winds, then the swell holds up to 10ft, but the winds shift West on Tuesday.
Happy Halloween! Damn rain….. kidlets will be getting wet tonight!

First picture is what it looked like when I got there and watched “the foot” and “pretty boy” paddle out…… wasn’t really looking all that great, saw the foot get crunched…… and I was ready to pass, then Little Larry pulled up and said I had to paddle out with him…….. well, at first , el caca…… was mushy, and damn hard to get into them, or they would just close up…. then , as the tide came in, got much better….. had some damn fun waves, with some good people in the water….. well worth the wait, going to wait a bit before I go again in the morning…. I think around 10 or so…….

Overcast this morning, and the winds earlier were out of the SE….. minus low tide this morning, high tide about 1p today….. think I will take that short drive north around 10a to see if a wave an be found…….. Today NW 6-8ft @ 11 sec’s with SE winds 20+mph. Friday….SW9 @ 9 sec’s and SE winds 20+….. yep, another drive north….. Then Sat…… this should be interesting…. SW 13ft with S winds….. picking up Sun and Mon to W 15-16ft with SW winds.
Heading to San Diego next week… pick up some boards, ( my new custom Linden) and attend the 60th anniversary for my parents…… also planning on surfing wth my baby sister and a couple of old friends….. hopefully the surf will stay fun down there……. with some luck Danny Hess will have some boards ready for me, and I might see what GP might have available……

Went over to the cove early…. low tide, mostly closing out, but smaller than yesterday….. think I will go back for a look after we unload a truck or two around here…… Stuck up was out by himself at Indian, picking off a few nice little rights….. much better call there than north today….. W5@11sec’s, waist to chest high…. S/SE winds today, high tide around 1p. Thursday about the same, Friday morning SW5ft building to 7ft later with SE/S winds…. weekend looking tricky…. SW 14-18ft with SW winds……

It’s been awhile, but we are doing a pretty good job of “junking up” the shop and making it look and feel more like a surf shop……… going to move the sign this week. Now, will all this going on, Papa John at Coaster Construction has begun the 2nd phase…… remodeling the old shop to handle the new store “CB Beach Store” that will go in that space….. just found out today we have to move forward to have our bathroom get up to ADA standards, so that means an entirely new “Mark’s Office”…… but, we will be adding a shower in there….. so I will have a nice warm place to shower off after the morning surf…… the new store should be….hopefully in operation by the first week of Dec. 08!!

Just got back from the cove….. had a ball!!! Tons of people out this morning, surf was chest to overhead….. Jyanail found the nasty spot, and snapped her Pearson Arrow……. not a happy camper! Seems to be alot of that happening the last week or so….. we all seemed to have had a great time….. except Jyanial…….. but it was one hell of a great left!

Dropped a bit from yesterday and high tide at 12:30p today…… so….. think I will finish up here and take that little drive north, although I think most places will be fun today…… W5ft @ 14 sec’s, with S winds today….. picking up a bit on Wed to 7ft @ 11sec’s and S winds… Thursday morning, W5ft, then picking up later in the day to NW7ft with SE winds…. Friday now calling for SW 11ft , SW winds…. Sat., seas at 16ft with S winds….. the week is looking great!

Well, closed the shop a bit early, taking Maria to the Wayfarer for dinner tonight….. celebrating our 35th anniversary…… here is a picture taken about a year after we were married in San Diego……time has flown by…….

Went back around 10a…… oh hell yes….. what a ball….. classic cove! waves were chest to head high, water was nice, sun was out, good people in the water………..little bumpy on the drops, but what fun!……. yep…. going to have to give that another shot this week……
