Had the first deck party last night…. smaller group, only around 25 or so showed up, but the NOHO’s chicken and Pork were killer, party went on until after 10a, and, we got our first official noise complaint!! Dreadlock Jim did a great job on the music….. yes, the kids were dancing….. Surf this morning looking a bit on the junky side, S winds already starting to pick up, but the swell is NW 5ft @ 8-10 sec’s… monday morning looking like W5ft @ 13 sec’s with SW winds. Rest of the week looks like W3-4ft, with winds of all types…… going to be getting out early….

It got bigger today….. early, only Cheap Bastard, Paloma, DL, Doc and Morgan and a few others…… then got crowded around 7:30a…. surf was shoulder to overhead clean up sets…… lots of waves, cold water…. gloves were nice!! Still wore the 5mm suit….. air temp was 65 at 6a… going to be around 80 today…. NW 5-6ft, same for Sunday, dropping on Monday to 4ft…..
Deck Party at 7p tonight!!!! hell yes…. drinks and food……

Got out EARLY this morning with Paloma up at Indian…. knee high clean, crystal clear nuggets…… had a ton of fun little waves….. Paloma took out the 10′ Linden Parabolic and ripped it up….. W3ft @ 8sec’s…. No wind this morning, but N winds later supposed to gust 25+ mph…… but damn nice this morning…. if only the swell had a few more feet….. Sat. is supposed to pick up to 5ft, going out early again….. Sunday might get up to 6ft….. Low tide at 1:10p today….

Been stuck in the market this morning, but looks like it would have been great early morning…. friday…… a couple guys out at needles, looked about waist with maybe an occasional chest high wave…… W3-5ft @ 8-10 sec’s, calm wind in the am, but supposed to pick up later with gusts 25+ out of the North. Friday about the same, smaller on sat., then picking up on Sun and Mon to W6-7ft….. monday winds out of the SW

It has been one long ass winter!!! And , according to the long term weather, Sat will be sunny and 77….. seems like the best day for our first of the summer deck parties….. Dreadlock will bring the music….. byob and some food….we will supply a bunch of stuff….. Noho left a couple bags of his chicken and pork , so naturally, it will be eaten quickly…. I am thinking a start time around 6:30p…… shop will be open until 8p…… let me know if you have any questions….. surf should also be good that day as well………….

Got out around 1p with Samoan Eric up at Indian Beach…. for the first 1/2 hour, it was pretty fun, as the day went on, pretty bumpy, with the N NW winds picking up…. still had some fun rides with the Linden Parabolic…. still trying to get used to the board, and finally got a fun , fast little left to see how it can fly….. water still a bit cold, but getting back to normal, and the sun is out…… going to go again on Wed., probably around the same time…… mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

got up early, and took a look…. still small, and minus low tide at 10:45A, so I decided to get some work done, and go after lunch…. incoming might be better, tried the outgoing yesterday…. nah….. S/Sw 3-4ft today @ 13-15 sec’s, air temp at 6a was 50.N winds later with gusts 20-25mph….. supposed to be nice! Wed – Thur. W4-5ft with N winds, Friday and Sat. calling for W6-7ft with N winds…… Early will be the call, might even try the cove on Friday morning….. Other than that day, looks like I will be getting out after the noon hour the rest of the week….. too damn much work to get done!!

First summer day of surf, got out with Paloma early…….. surf was knee to ankle high, at first, we had a few fun little nuggets, then we got “gordon’d”….. another guy paddled out, and the surf actually got worse…….. SW 2-3ft @ 10-15sec’s, with N – NW winds picking up later to 20+mph… Good news, swell will be getting better all week, with Friday being W6ft….. Dreadlock Jim got out this morning as well…… I have a classic picture of him going up on the website….

Rained last night, but clearing up this morning…. air temp in the mid 50′s, SW swell 3-4ft, with N/NW winds picking up later with gusts 20+mph. Still looking a bit blown out this morning, minus low tide at 9:40a, with a plus high tide at 4:30p. Monday supposed to drop down to 3ft, with a gradual building to 5ft by Wed and Thursday….. going to work today……

Decided to drive over to the Cove this morning, with hopes of an early morning session…… I think Mark’s expression of how good the surf is says it all…… occasionally, a set would show up down by ave u, but other than that…. 2ft was about the usual. Might get better with some higher tide….. Sun. looks OK for the morning, but the NW winds are supposed to pick up….. Mon – Wed. W3-4ft with NW winds…. Today, 9a minus low tide… high tide at 4p
