Overcast this morning, but air temp in the mid 50′s….. Swell dropped, today, about NW 4-5ft, with light SW winds this morning, but supposed to turn from the NW later….. Mon – Thurs. looks like more of this….. W/NW 4-6ft with N/NW winds. Guy on the board yesterday was SF Ryan…… Been pretty busy here, lots of rentals, but so far, no real damage, and no real war stories……of course except for the 2 ass munches yesterday….. “loud Brothers”l……
Monday is Memorial Day……… a day to honor those in uniform that gave the ultimate…… try to remember why it is a “holiday”…… enjoy the rest of the weekend. mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

Got out at Indian about 6:30a……. not the best surf, but felt good to get out there….. waves were pretty much closing up, with an occassional clean left or right…. some pretty fun drops….. it was nice and quiet out there this morning…. Cheap Bastard, some kid from Washington , then “the foot” paddled out with the F’ing “loud brothers” from Portland….. 2 of the biggest assmunches to grace a nice morning….. more to follow on those 2 on my blog….. So we had some fun little junkers, then Gordon and Stuck Up paddled out….. finale of the morning was being able to drop in on Stuck Up, a crappy little closeout, but still had fun looking him in the eye and getting the best laugh of the morning. Report calls for NW 8ft, but most at Indian were 4-6, with NW winds picking up to 20 mph today. Sunday – tuesday drops to 4-5ft with SW winds on sunday morning, turning nw for the rest of the week.

Was really hoping to get wet this morning, but no luck…. cove was blown out, outside sets all of the 9ft called for….. then drove to Indian, but the road was closed, due to a slide just before the pay station with the power lines down…. probably will be open this afternoon…… so, that being the case, the surf was probably epic up there this morning. Today, NW winds 15-20mph….. W/NW swell 8-9ft. Swell should drop to about W7 on Sat. , then down to 4-5 ft through Tuesday….. yep…. going to be some surf in the near future……. Have a great weekend!!!! mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

Went up to Indian first thing this morning…. could be “surfable” after the minus low tide at 9a…… Surf reports calling for NW9ft, but looks more like 5ft…… Nw winds blowing, but not bad yet…. just more rain and drizzle…… again, judging by the posted surf reports, it is supposed to be 10ft on Friday, dropping to 7ft on Sat, then down to 4-5 on Sun and Mon….. the cove looked just blown out and ugly….. first two pics are Indian, and 2nd 2 are from the cove…… Did see a herd of elk on the road into Indian, and at least the prospects of an early morning surf on Sat. is good….. we will see what later today brings…… mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

Today, W-9-10 @ 6-9 sec’s, with NW winds howling this morning, gusting to 25+mph….. Thurs looks to drop a bit to about 7ft, then picking up on Friday to 10ft, dropping on the weekend to 8ft on sat., and 5ft on sunday…. all this with N/NW winds…… so…… looks like we will be staying on this side of Tillamook Head…….

OK, got this from Joan, who worked with us on all the contests we did in the old days…… these are her comments on the Cleanwater classic….She lives in Westport…. Can’t say I would argue with her! You can see my comments on my blog on our website.
> Subject: Cleanwater Classic > > Hey – They held the 7th Annual Cleanwater Classic this weekend in > Westport – our old Polar Surf Challenge that the Surfrider pansies > slowly moved from January to May. Got out early this morning, at first, only a few of us out there… Pat, Finger and myself….. didn’t take long to start getting crowded, but still got some fun waves…. I can now work the rest of the day and be OK…… W 4-6ft @ 10-14 sec’s, with no winds this am, but supposed to pick up to 15mph out of the south later. Tuesday morning should be about the same, but building to W8ft later….. Wed- Friday, W9-11ft, with NW winds… mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

foggy this morning, Swell looks like W6ft, but the intervals look more like 8sec’s vs. the 12 sec’s on the surf reports. Still looks more on the junky side, but better than yesterday. Mon and Tues. morning, still looking like the cove will be a good call. Tues. pm – Thursday, will pick up to 8ft with NW winds…… Indian or Shorty’s will be the better call on those days…. IF the report holds true…. mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com
