Hope somebody else is finding waves and that bright glowing thing in the sky cuz' its not happening up here today.

First pic: that's a clammer that is almost outside the break its so small. SW Swell has produced flat conditions up there and junk conditions down here. Raining like a winter squall this morning with SE winds. Cold. Great day to be working.....or driving in S. California.

Second pic: Epic sandbar at the cove.....and rain in the background.

Third pic: Epic film shoot at Indian this morning with a slew cars from down south and a few troopers.
Thursday: SW wind 15 kt. wind waves 2 ft. W swell 6 ft.
Friday: S wind 15 kt. wind waves 2 ft. W swell 5 ft.

East winds blowing this morning. Swell is small but supposed to build today to 5'. Minus low tide @ 9:30 with a SW swell. This morning not as good as last night just north of here. Yesterday late at the cove was pretty fun. Size was relatively small but 2 peaks had enough people spread out. Was very interested in a new technique of one of the rentals inside; "the turbo paddle". They sure wanted everyone to hear about it whatever it was. Mark is on a journey south to see how many boards he can pile into the van. I sure hope he doesn't cut anyone off and force them to call the surf shop to whine about it again.

Wednesday: SW wind 15 to 20 kt. wind waves 4 ft. SW swell 5 ft. showers likely.
Thursday: SW wind 15 kt. wind waves 2 ft. W swell 6 ft.
Friday: S wind 15 kt. wind waves 2 ft. W swell 5 ft.

32 this morning, and snow...... not a lot of snow, but still, mid april and it's snowing..... should warm up to 50+ today, minus low tide this morning, going to go back and look in a couple hours, let some water fill in..... Today NW 5-7ft @ 10 sec's, with SW winds 15+ mph today. Looks like more of the same for Tue - Wed, with a W8ft, dropping to 5/6 ft on thursday and friday.... weekend should be better than last weekend.... I think we were cursed with the snow, because Julie in Eugene made fun of her weather yesterday....... thanks Bird!!! I will be off to S. Cal. in the early morning..... hopefully Cory will be able to post a daily pic on the website while I am gone..... but, since he has his art show on May 2nd, he might be getting as stuck up as John, who I also recently found out is a real photographer who sells his shots at the Whitebird gallery...... surrounded by damn artists....... mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

cold this morning, had to scrape the ice..... 41 right now, with NW/ W winds 20-30mph, wind chill down to low 30's, Swell is supposed to be NW 12-14ft, but the winds are knocking it down a bit..... minus low tide this morning. Sunday is supposed to drop below 10ft, and continue to drop during the day, still cold and some wind...... Mon. - Wed calling for 4-6ft, with the swell turning out of the SW later on Monday..... No sun in the forecast, but warmer days in the mid 50's for next week..... This is the Earth, Wind and Sea Weekend in Cannon Beach.... not exactly sure what that means, but there are some things going on downtown today..... mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com

Sat. and Sunday look like 10-12ft dropping sunday night, with more NW winds.... bringing the temp down..... Monday drops to SW5ft, then Tuesday SW3ft (when I hit the road for points south)..... Got the report out early, get to spend the morning in court with one of our "kids" that work for us.....

Swell is still down to around W6ft @8-10 sec's, but calm N winds this morning, picking up to 15-20 mph later, with the swell building to 8ft tonight. Friday and Sat. looking 9-12ft with NW winds, sunday dropping to 8, then W6 on monday..... but, NW winds for the rest of the week.... supposed to get snow on 26, with highs down here around 45..... The cove is probably pretty good this mornng, but............ since my van, with both boards, 3 of my wetsuits etc. is still in the shop in Warrenton, don't know if I will get out before it blows out..... took the van in for service, and they found a leaking seal between the transfer case and transmission... but, covered under warranty.... glad they found it before it went out on I-5 in the middle of bfe....... Still planning on taking off early Tuesday for S. Cal...... picking up 33 boards and 4 blanks..... should fill the van...... mark mekenas cbsurf@cannonbeachsurf.com www.cannonbeachsurf.com
