got out this morning at the cove…. mushy and a bit junky, most waves about waist high, but water wasn’t bad…. Andrew and TV Dave were out….. at least we surfed…. for the most part!! Got back yesterday afternoon…. Cory did a great job on keeping the daily pictures up on our website….thanks!!! I would go this morning, if I didn’t have to deal with the van….. I brought back a few boards…… Had to put mine on the rack on top, no room left inside….. new boards from Linden, a greek shorty, Gordon & Smith’s, a New Dewey 9’0 quad, some Lost and some new Jed Nolls….will pick up some new Jim Philips boards in a few weeks when we are back down there……. have to take pics, and set up some for the rental boards….. but, surf looks small this morning, about 4ft, but supposed to pick up later to 6ft, no wind this morning, but S winds picking up with gusts to 25mph later….. Monday looking pretty goods…. in the morning… I will probably hit the cove…. get some cold water back in the veins….. been spoiled with the no glove or hoods and a lighter suit….. The week looks like it will be a bit of everything. I will probably have pictures from the trip up on our other site this week…. some fun stuff…. and, I have plenty to rant about, but most importantly, so damn glad to be back in Cannon Beach!! A late report today. Tough to get out of the water to post pics when its this fun. Get out there and get some waves today. Sun is out, 65 degrees, slight East winds. Fun waves about sholder high and some fast little zippers on the sets. Couple of peaks working this morning at Indian. W swell 5ft at 11 seconds today. Mark’s bringing in a load of new boards today so stop by the shop late this afternoon or tomorrow and check out what he’s got.

Bouy read 1.6ft this morning. Second pic is a demonstration of board-size needed today, and it helps to bring a paddle. Saw 2 boats launching at the cove as well. At least its not raining! Report is calling for W swell 4ft at 10 seconds w/ variable wind, which is nice because you get to pick. Slight wind outta the south when I got to the cove. One SUPer one longboard. Handfull of lil ripples to ride. Could get a little better when it fills in.

Saturday: SE wind 15-20 kt wind waves 4ft. W swell 7ft at 12sec.

Sunday: S wind 15-20kt wind waves 4ft SW swell 8ft

Got in the water at 6a this morning at Pipes…. wasn’t great, but the water felt great…. no gloves or hood, and super warm with the 4/3 and 3mm booties. Had a bunch of waist high fun nuggets…. only 3 other guys out for a while, then by 8a, looked like about 10 more…. but good vibes and no crowding…… going to pick up more boards today, and meeting with some suppliers, then over to my parents for family biz and cocktails….. Sure is nice to paddle out without the “ice cream headache”, no winds, and as a bonus, about 15 dolphins hung around for a while……That in itself should insure a good day!

Left CB on Tuesday morning around 4a, hit a white out up on 26, and then heavy rain all the way to Ashland….. that is where I last used my visa card, at the union 76 station on the east side of I-5, last exit …… hit snow on top of Mt. Ashland, then rain most of the way to San Francisco. Got to Mark’s apt. around 3:30p, so waited until he got home from work, to catch up with the life of MC…… always amazes me that this young man is my son… quality guy! Takes after his mother! So then we checked the old man in at the hotel, met up with Danni, his girlfriend, and had a very nice dinner at Maxi’s, up the street from the hotel. Hit the bed by 9p, and hit the road the following morning by 4a heading south….. the “living dead” were walking around the streets….. not pretty!! Kept the doors locked and weapons ready…… Hit Pismo around 6:30a, surf was small , so I kept heading south…. looked at all the spots, nothing looked good….. but, by the time I got to Huntington Beach, the visa people were callling me to let me know that I was ordering tons of stuff on the internet…. and, since I was driving, this was bad……. so, some schmuck got the visa number, my name, and the address off the van….. and tried to order me all kinds of fun stuff…. too bad the only ones hurt are the companies that are trying to ship the stuff to me….. so, the card was canceled, and all charges were denied….. finally had time to meet with Bob Bolen, the Greek, and see all the neat stuff he is working on for this year, and, ordered a couple more boards to be picked up later….. spent some time with Shea at Dewey Weber’s shop, and picked up a couple boards there…… got one of the new 9’0 quads….. nice!! then off to Lost, loaded up with 4 of their boards….. stopped by to flip the Pierre at Linden some crappola… then went to look for a wave….. small and blown out….. so, got a hotel…. too tired to drive or sit in anymore traffic…… going to try for some surf in the morning…….

West winds this morning providing a little wind chop. Swell came around more west than we’ve had for about 2 weeks. W sewll 5ft at 10 seconds. Looks more like 3ft at 8 seconds but at least the sun is out! Looks like we may get a little bump this weekend.
