Got out around 8a for a few waves with “the gordon”….. we pretty much had the south end to ourselves, and was fun , until the tide started to come in, got pretty mushy , junky and shifty…… most waves were waist to chest…. sometimes an outside set would give us a bit of a spanking……. water still on the cold side, 52 or so…. was fine with gloves and boots with no hood……high tide at 11am, light N winds, picking up to aobut 20mph later…. some sun breaks, but foggy, as the city will be in the 90+ temps today….. nice here…………. Sat. W5ft @ 7 sec’s with light N winds in the am, picking up to 20+ in the pm… high tide at noon. Sunday NW 5ft with light am winds, again picking up in the pm to 25+mph, minus low tide at 6:20a. Monday W 6ft with am light W winds, minus low tide around 7a. Tuesday SW 6ft with light sw winds and minus low tide at 7:40am.
Summer is here…… Indian will be getting crowded by late morning, and the road up to Ecola will be treacherous…. couple days ago, I was run off the road by a white VW camper van hauling ass up the road…… today, almost got it by a large Ford Van, taking his lane out of the center….. So……. IF you are heading up this way, PLEASE, take your time….. lots of traffic… not winter anymore!!! IF you are heading to Oswald, now is the time to make sure nothing you want stolen is in plain sight…. easy to break in to cars over there….. seems lately we have had some theft around the shop and even at the hotel behind us….. so….. summer sometimes brings the bad with all the good…… just be careful and aware….. take a “mellow” deep breath…… Enjoy the beach!!

Sunshine……. light N winds this morning, surf still junky, high tide at 10a, going to try to get out of the shop for a bit this morning…….. with some luck…….. NW 5-6ft @ 7-9 secs, with N winds picking up later to 20+mph. Friday about the same with high tide at 11am. Sat. again….NW 5ft with light NW winds and high tide at noon…. Sunday SW 6ft with N winds 20+mph and minus low tide at 6:20a. Monday W6ft with N winds 15+mph and minus low tide at 7am….. Still planning the “wienie roast and beer” on July 4th at the shop……. parade as well…..

Getting better…… later today might be pretty good…. one guy out this morning….stuck up john….. saw him get one….. still on the junky and mushy side, with some outside sets coming in (rarely) about head high….. No winds this morning, but will pick up to about 30+mph later today. High tide at 9am. Thursday looking better…. NW 5-6ft @ 10 sec’s with light am n winds, picking up to 25+later. Friday through Sunday looking like NW 5ft with light N winds, stronger in the afternoons, sunshine….. high tides from 11am to 1p…… Looks like a damn good weekend! If anyone is coming into the shop to pickup equipment etc… on Sat., you will want to be in and out by 10a, or after 1p….. we have the annual 4th of July parade going down Hemlock st….. probably one of the best events of the year in Cannon Beach…. by far!!…….. We are going to set up the barbque in front of the shop, do some dogs etc…and some beers or….???…… should be a good day! Early am surf then enjoy the rest of the day……..

Overcast this morning , but very light winds early….supposed to pick up to 25+mph out of the NW today. Swell is NW 9-10ft @ 9 sec’s ….. still big and junky….. did hear that a few were getting some at the N. end of the beach south of here….. Wed. looks about the same, NW 10-12ft with N winds 30+….. then thursday starts to clean up, NW 8ft with N winds 20+mph….Friday and Saturday , NW 5ft with lighter NW winds……

Not a good morning to be in the water…. big, junky and windy…… air temp dropped to about 50 this morning…. N winds 25+ today. NW 10-12ft @ 8-10 sec’s, high tide at 6:20am. supposed to get a high of 69 today with some sunshine…… weird……
Tuesday, NW 11-13ft @ 8 sec’s, with N winds 30+mph, high tide at 7:40a, with partly cloudy, high of 69…. Wed. W 12ft, north winds 30+, high tide at 9am, sunny and 74. Thursday NW 7ft with N winds 20+mph, high tide at 10am, sunny and 76. Friday NW 6-7ft with NW winds 20mph, high tide at 11am, mostly sunny and 74. Saturday NW 4-5ft , high tide at noon, partly cloudy and 69…. grilling hot dogs in front of the shop…. Sunday NW 4-5ft, high tide at 12:45p, cloudy and 68…. So……. looks like some good surf later in the week…… just going to work and get ready for the 4th of july……. don’t think we are going to be in the parade this year, I think we will roast some hot dogs etc. and have some refreshments in front of the shop to watch the parade……….. Sandy just dropped off a newer barbque for us to use at the shop….guess he didn’t like our old one……

Heard it is better here than there…… Sun is out, got a little rain overnight….. Small this morning, about W 2-4ft, with light N winds this morning. About 8 sec intervals. But, I have been checking several reports this morning, looks like tonight and Monday, might get nasty….. Supposed to build to about 10-12 ft tonight, with Seas 9-10 ft in the morning…… N winds 25+mph….. You can see some clouds coming in from the north…..so, better enjoy the day…… Tuesday should be better…. NW 6-7ft, with N winds 20+, Wed. NW 6ft with N winds 20+… Thursday NW 5-6ft again, with the N winds….. Friday drops to about 3-4ft, and 4th of July will be around 3ft…… at least that is what the majority of sites are reporting….

Great Morning….sun is out….. very light N winds…. hit the water early…..back at the shop…. first few waves were pretty fun, then it started to mush out more and more… and dropped to about 4ft @ 9 sec’s, but one little peak started working where the “crowd” sits…… should be a fun day at the beach. When stuck up and I first paddled out, there was a whale about 200 yards off the rock….. that was pretty cool…. SB said there were 2 up north just outside…. Today, NW 4-6ft @ 9 sec’s with light N winds, picking up later to 25mph. Sun. looking better than first thought…. W 6ft @ 12 sec’s with am light N winds, picking up in the afternoon…… Monday, NW9ft with N winds 20+mph Tuesday NW 7ft with N winds 15+mph….. Wed. NW 6 with N winds 25+mph….

Sun is out….. beautiful morning…. surf is still big and junky, but should start to clean up as the day goes…… Some historical events today……. My Brother in Law, Mike is retiring today from the San Diego PD…. good to know he is still older than I am….. you may see him in the future being a ref for college foot ball games with Bob Bahne….. Congrat’s Mike!!! Jules is celebrating her birthday today !! She has sworn me to secrecy on the number, but I am impressed…. you can find her around 6p at the Bistro…. trying to drink the bar dry…… another note…. earlier this week, Mike and Aleka were down, and we found out that she is pregnant…. Congrat’s to her and MIke…. nice kids!!! Jess, wife of Flounder is out of surgery on a hip replacement…. yes, she is only about 30…… damn…. but, she will eventually be back to teach the flounder to surf….. Got the call about surf up north early….el crappola…….. Today, NW8 @ 6-9 sec’s. with light NE winds this morning, but picking up later to 25+mph…. minus (damn) low tide at 10:10a this morning. Sat., high tide at 4am, W 5ft @ 9sec’s with light N winds…… Sunday W 8ft with N winds 20+mph Monday NW 9ft with N winds 25+ Tuesday NW 7ft with N winds 25+mph Looks like early morning, before the winds pick up will be the call, or early evening….

At the CB Beach Store, we just got in the first 8 cases of Primo Beer….. some of you may have had the chance to sample it the last month or so…… pretty damn nice beer…. much better than the old primo!!
